Such a mix of high-minded indie and thrusting dance beats could easily have pulled the band out of their comfort zone and sounded silly or awkward, yet “Reflektor” shows just how large Arcade Fire’s comfort zone actually is.

Ten Out Of Ten: 2026 Edition

I've first heard this song only recently and I'm absolutely charmed by its idea, execution, sonic creativity and prime LCD Soundsystem vibe. Reflektor feels like a celebration of sad themed songs that is accompanied by James Murphy's signature rumbas, synths, multi-layered vocals (including David Bowie). the definition of beautifully haunting, i love how mature win sounds and regine contrasts him masterfully (her singing in french was a nice touch)
the instrumental is mind blowing as expected from arcade fire with occasional dancey synths, constant pulsing drums, an expertly done piano solo, sophisticated but unnerving horns and suppressed guitars that really add to the feeling of uncertainty this song gives off at times
