Overwhelmingly confident in execution, Under The Skin is yet another astonishing notch for Code Orange to add to their belt, and further affirmation that this is a collective willing and indeed more than able to go just about anywhere with their sound.
Under The Skin is not Code Orange’s definitive statement as a band, but as a showcase for why they are head and shoulders above their peers, it’s pretty conclusive evidence all the same.

A Day of Live Albums #2 - Makes Perfect Sense!
If nothing else, under the skin is an incredible showcase of Code Orange’s versatility as a band. I mean, the same year you release a record that’s been in the works for over 3 years, you release a live “unplugged” album that was one of three live streams you made because of the pandemic? It's been a little while since I listened to this, but I remember being so excited for this when it came out, it was at the perfect time where I was absolutely and utterly obsessed with this band (I'm not exaggerating when I say I listened to nothing other than Code Orange from the time Underneath dropped until Tallah dropped Matriphagy the same year) and for what its worth now returning to it, I think the re-imagining of these songs in a more acoustic form works really well!

Sorry for the bias on here too, but I love Code Orange and how creative they're in terms of doing more and getting out there like no other Metal band is right now. They washed away all excuses in quarantine and got to work, doing two great live sets in order to support their new album
