I really don't know what I got into
I found when I was browsing on Rate Your Music, searching for shoegaze releases of this year. Ohms was first of course, but then I saw this album... The drawing and the baseball player on its cover was something that caught my attention. Then, the length of the record: a 27 minutes song that keeps progressing, spanning through many genres (noise, post-rock, shoegaze, electronica, then noise again) during its duration, and I just don't know what I got into... ... read more
This is a really interesting Post-Rock album as it practically condenses each song in a full-length post-rock album to distinct movements within the song. This leads to a very clear sense of progression as the album shifts from noise to post-rock, shoegaze, and back to noise. While it is nice to listen to, it lacks some emotionality, I think.
