This Night, on the other hand, feels entirely haphazard without purpose.

My least favorite destroyer album, and still a better than average singer-songwriter album. This album meanders a whole lot, and while I do love when destroyer meanders, I don’t think he really nails it here. But I’m glad he made this album, because it really helped guide him to a lot of his more elaborate compositions. Grateful for this album, but it’s long-windedness usually gets to me.

Probably an unpopular opinion but this album is absolutely incredible. The second destroyers album that I've given a 10 to. I feel like Dan bejar put so much effort into this night, from the amazing instrumentation, songwriting and general atmosphere of the album. Dan bejar has a way of effortlessly immersing you into his music and that's why he's always held a special spot in my heart.

BAND OF THE WEEK: Album Thoughts #4
Oof, after praising their previous record Pitchfork gave this record a 4.4. Ah, the good days, when Pitchfork had some balls. Surely this record dosent deserve that rating but it is quite the drop in quality in comparison to its predecessors. This Night is a much more chill album, with a lot of repetition and minimalism.
