The intimacy of Hanazono reminds me of the ones I felt when I listened to Vespertine. Very personal and mutualistic affection brought out by sensual vocals but then you start hearing these microscopic beats and random noises that just adds a little bit of character and texture to the songs.
I didn’t know much going into this latest release from Japanese singer-songwriter Satomimagae and I can’t say I got too much back from it. This album is very interesting; it's a folk album with some very close almost whispery vocals. Sometimes it comes off as ethereal, other times it's like ASMR. The album feels very slow despite only being 30 something minutes. The only reason the score isn't lower is because it is still nice to listen to when you're hearing the music in isolation, but as an experience, it's not really that great.
