A band that makes tracks like Laugh Track, Space Invader and Smoke Detector does not haver the right to make a "medium" album like this and their earlier release. I mean, these tracks are FIRE! Some of the other lyrics are pretty etc., but in contrast with other The National's albums (almost all of them), the 2023's release are kind of flat - unfortunatelly, because their concert is one of my all time favourites e they are one of my top artists played in the last 10 years.

I mean, I first listened "Details" when I was around 14. Now I'm 31. And this aged like wine.

Surreal voice, incredibly fine and amazing production choices. Because, you know, it could be excessive in it's psychedelia, it could be boring and uninteresting in a non-involving way. It could be a lot of bad things and it is not. It's beautiful, bittersweet, a smooth mushroom trip. Almost no fillers, only killers. It's really in the details (no punch intended).

it's really a blueprint for Daft Punk's Discovery (and I mean it in the best of ways)

Bit of pitty that it starts like fire, but loses the track of energy along the album. Pitty because the first album is, imho, one of the most underrated rock albums of 2010's.

But it's a good album, though. Worths the play.
