With Start Something they've gained the confidence to inject some personality into their sound and claim it rightfully as their own. Playing to their strengths at last, they've taken the lustre of their energetic live shows and injected into their second record with an enthusiasm that shines out of every song.
This [is] a good piece of music, and fun to listen to. Even with some small flaws, the record is a good progression for the band and it's sound.
when someone does something so horrible is it even possible to separate the art from the artist?
Don't listen to this album.
Instead, maybe donate some money to an orphanage, a hospital, a program for victims of sexual assault or rape, or hell just buy a fucking pizza.
All would be 1000000000000000x better uses of your time and money than giving Ian Watkins... anything. Anything at all. Even oxygen.
