There aren't many debut records as amazing as Effloresce. It's a bona fide masterclass of innovative songwriting and atmosphere, at once one of the smartest rock albums ever written and the most accessible, despite many of the songs nearing ten minutes in length.

Moody Prog With Aggressive Tones Done Right
This 12 track 1 hour 15 minute LP was Oceansizes debut LP in 2003. It stands out as one of the best Prog LPs i've ever listened to despite it being just their debut. It carries this melancholy feeling throughout while also sometimes using somewhat heavy riffs and vocals, with a key example being Track 4 Massive Bereavement.
