I know, this isn’t the first new album I wanted to talk about this year either. By all means the smart thing to do would be to talk about the newest album from The Weeknd, and don’t worry, I’m giving that record a mental rough draft right now. But I just needed to get this album out of the way and clear my head of it, because I have some fucking thoughts.

she will pay for trying to rip off charli xcx so bad on smile and fascination and jane don't's elimination, but other tracks are really good, I can't deny that
hear me out - if the first 5 tracks were released as an EP I would have a hard time not giving it a 7+; while it is RuPaul, you can't help but GROOVE to some of those songs. Unfortunately the rest goes down the toilet, and I couldn't justify giving it a higher score than BTS, so here we are.

Outside of a few bad outliers, this record's not too bad. It's nothing special and feels like a trend-rider rather than a record RuPaul wanted to make with passion. Feels like an outsider looking in too as she's obviously no longer living the common life with all of her luxury and fame gathered throughout her years.

This is such a surreal dissonance with how familiar I was with Ru in the 80s-90s (those Ned Sullivan video diaries are so fucking good and yall need to watch them if you want a glimpse of 80s queer life in NYC).
