Despite it only being four tracks and 15 minutes long, this newest Embryo EP from Jlin displays why they are one of the most exciting artist happening in the world of IDM/Footwork. Not only are the tempos here filled with high energy, but the complexity of the production warrants future inspection and listening.
Favorite Tracks: Embryo, Connect the Dots
Jlin’s first release in a few years, has a really promising, exciting start. Heady bangers that pull from IDM, Footwork and so much more that remind me of what put her on the map in the first place. They have tons of quirky personality too. But the second half of this EP falls apart quickly, with some of Jlin’s least progressive and stiff tracks in a while.
