Trill is born out of necessity, a need to keep the UGK spirit alive and Bun B in the spotlight by proving he still has it. On all counts, it succeeds.
4 years after UGK's previous album, 1/2 of the group returns with his debut solo album. There's no Pimp C features to be seen among these 17 tracks, but instead you get one of the most blockbuster feature lists of the mid-2000's. You'd think that Bun B would be much of an afterthought on here given all the big names, but that never happens. Bun B is universally loved and the feature list is one of the most loaded I've seen, but the inconsistent production and long run time hold this album back. I'm Fresh, Trill Recognize Trill, Pushin and The Story are all stellar tho.
The production isn't always the strongest (never downright bad) but Bun is just as great here as he is on the UGK projects. The 20 something different features all uplift the album too.
