Wolfpack Party sounds as if Bay Area hyphy, Spank Rock, and Euro-trance were muddled in Seth Brundle's telepod. The result is - wait for it - engagingly fly.
As a beatmaker's business card, Wolfpack Party makes a great case for Young L's rising profile. There's a dynamic energy to his production that few other producers can harness. But as a whole, the harder Wolfpack Party tries to be a fun party record, the more forced it feels.
While Wolfpack Party is only their second full-length album, at this point it’s safe to say that The Pack have become a novelty act suited strictly for the young and carefree.
As a full front to back listen, while Wolfpack Party might not make your ears bleed, it will definitely have you reaching for the eject button before its runtime — nearly a full 80 minutes — comes close to expired.
