He continues to add his unique and intelligent perspective to the modern noise, and like us all, is coming out his forced isolation, to grace us with a little fresh air.

AllMusic

Deep in View is a sturdy, engaging, and highly listenable debut that feels less like a continuation of Ought and more like a new path branching off some of their best work.

Exclaim!
Cola make it all seem effortless to create perfectly catchy post-punk tunes, incorporating their punchy instrumentals with casual social commentary and calming meditative meanings.

Loud and Quiet
For now, Cola is enough to quench a curious thirst.

Clash
The reverence of this album lies in the decree of magnetic alignment both in lyrics and sound. It builds and falls, while all the while offering a space to exhale and feel held.

Uncut
This pleasing mix of exploratory guitar tones and ever-shifting rhythms that switch between the kinetic and flowing makes for an arresting debut.

Pitchfork
Cola haven’t reinvented the wheel, but these subtle experiments suggest they still have boundaries to push.

Cola sounds refreshing af right now. More of a sprite person tho tbh

Under appreciated post punk album time! My friend and I have been jamming out to this record for quite some time, but I figured that it was about time I gave it a closer listen. I do think the chords they use are more interesting however. The vocals could certainly use a re-do as well. They lack passion, and it feels like the vocalist is attempting to be “cool” and “laid-back” in an attempt to hide his uninspired performances. While the ... read more

Meandering and dull post punk from the frontman of Ought. It’s competently played and it isn’t the worst thing ever but wow what a snoozer. Kind of has a plain disaffected vibe to it.
