Mixing disco, dance, pop and R&B elements, ‘About Last Night…’ whisks us through the highs and lows of the best night out of your life, and Mabel is the perfect party guide.

‘About Last Night…’ leaves you with your ears ringing, hooks stuck in your head and a healthy dose of dancefloor catharsis that’ll make you feel lighter.

The Telegraph

Mabel ... retains the tender, thoughtful quality that infused her debut album High Expectations (2019), and this makes for an impressively nuanced flow.

The Observer
Telling the story of a night out from carefree beginning to heartbreak close, the singerโ€™s second album is a heady mix of house, synthpop and disco-tinged bangers.

This is music that performs confidence, that uses confidence as a genre rather than embodying it in any convincing sense.

Second album from London-based singer features some great songs but struggles to shake off a confused, thrown-together aesthetic.
Spectrum Culture

Nothing on About Last Night… sounds particularly fresh or original, even for a record that supposedly draws inspiration from a previous era of pop.

The Line of Best Fit

While many of the right components are present, About Last Night... feels like a plate of empty calories; struggling to reach a sense of genuine empowerment on account of its overstuffed production and lyrics that are vague to the point of meaninglessness.

Evening Standard

These songs are fun for a summer fling but not worthy of a long-term relationship.

Mabel's second album has a lot more personality than her first, the bland High Expectations that went unnoticed for being a hit only. here, using more intense beats, clearer tributes and drinking from a dance and electronic water that her mother, Neneh Cherry, has already drunk a lot in her works, the singer shows that there is still something missing, perhaps more polished songs and with a little more of originality, but that is finally showing artistic maturity in a good pop album.

Depois do sucesso do Future Nostalgia e do What's Your Pleasure, muitos artistas começaram a investir na disco e na Dance music, e o que era fresh em 2020, já está soando batido e saturado em 2022, e neste álbum fica claramente visível isso.

“We have Dua Lipa at home”
It’s just boring safe pop music.
Tecca feature was fire though.
