THE POST-GRUNGE CHALLENGE (before couting)
Their best album and it's not even close. I still don't love it or anything, but it has one great song and genuinely isn't terrible.
It actually didn't age that badly, surprisingly.
The production is OK, the riffs are OK, and while I think the vocals are mediocre, they aren't awful here. I do find a lot of the songs to be boring and generic, but for Skillet, this is like an Ok Computer for them.

An album strong with heavy hitting hard rock, while also being brought down by mildly lackluster ballads, and a somewhat cringe filled closing track. But Skillet really did seem to peak on this record.
It's a strong 6 out of 10.
The best skillet album both musically and lyrically. It may sound a bit generic but it works. Generic isn't always bad, plus whisper in the dark is my favorite skillet song ever.
Imagine a watered down version of Evanescence with M. Shadows-esque vocals? The AMV twats love it but I don't care for it.
