Blending slowcore, ambient, and folk with lo-fi musings on memory and entropy, Portland, Oregon musician Kyle Bates joins a grand tradition of Pacific Northwestern gloom.

soft and sleepy slowcore with introspective lyrics. potent vibes and rich production, but a very sedate atmosphere with only a few shiny moments to grab onto - you gotta be in the mood for this kind of thing, and the more in the mood you are the more it hits

for that reason this took 3 listens to start clicking for me, and i feel like it could grow more. but it's not something i'd be down for that often

An absolutely beautiful mixture of slowcore and electronic. While some songs definitely drag on, most here are absolutely beautiful and take me to another place entirely. Also my goat oneohtrix point never gets mentioned here so that adds some points.

Incredible mix of slowcore and glitchy electronic, Drowse’ best work to date.
