Afrodisiac is Brandy's fourth consecutive durable showing, fluffed out with a few innocuous -- if still very listenable -- filler moments, but it is stocked with a number of spectacular -- and emotionally resonant -- singles that wind up making for her most accomplished set yet.
Brandy's new album recalls Janet Jackson at her best: She's a pop star, but she's making the most of her big studio budgets and is following her muse.
The even tone and lack of emotional punch in Brandy's voice detract from the personal touch she gives the lyrics. It makes for a record that sounds fairly decent but causes drowsiness.
‘Afrodisiac’ is another highly influential album from Brandy. Her vocal arrangements ate taken to even greater heights here.
Another gorgeous Brandy album. She always manages to soar over these beats and pad the background vocals with so much warmth and air while remaining earthy. Sorry this is making me feel esoteric a little. This album just flies by it's very nice. Brandy's final masterpiece. She proves once more why her legacy is untouchable, and the production behind her feels like a love letter to every era she's touched.

It took me a long time and multiple listens of the first few tracks to make it all the way through this album, but I was glad I did when it was done. Brandy is very musically talented and this is another example of that fact. While there weren't many tracks that left me awestruck, almost every track is undeniably high quality and by the end I understood this album's high ratings, although I'm not necessarily dying for a relisten.
