It all brings a sense of hope in the face of the frontman’s despondency.

‘Snake Sideways’ is a culmination of all of Do Nothing’s talents, and a great debut album which is perfect for the live setting – where the band thrives.

The Line of Best Fit

Do Nothing establish their presence on debut album Snake Sideways.

NME
There are compelling moments on the Nottingham four-piece's debut, but they don't quite manage to add up to a consistent whole.

Loud and Quiet

“Snake sideways” is about right: Do Nothing would have made a very different sounding – and no doubt less inventive – debut if they’d been picked up by a major in their early days, but one no less fit for big record sales than Snake Sideways is.

There is surely too much value in Do Nothing’s raw materials to discard the Nottingham quartet alongside face masks and rapid flow tests in the box of Covid throwbacks, but, besides a handful of promising moments, this value is not coming to the fore on Snake Sideways.

Do Nothing's debut album "Snake Sideways" is a mixed bag that lacks direction and feels unfinished, with great ideas that need more fleshing out. The lyrics range from silly to vague, while the tracks alternate between catchy and experimental. This awaited project not living up to their previous EPs is disheartening.

Album Highlights: #1 Nerve and #2 Happy Feet.

Finally the debut album is here
I have been aware of Do Nothing for four fucking years now. I heard "Lebron James" and immideatly fell in love with it. Sadly, it's still their best song, the spoken-word just can't be beat. The guitars are so funky, the bass-line and that chorus melody... DAMN.

Now we finally have the debut album 'Snake Sideways', which is at least a lot more memorable than the forgettable 'Glueland EP' two years ago. I especially like ... read more
