I can tell that this band has some interesting ideas and love to write challenging music that will improve their craft, but I’m not sure if the pop clean vocals, mixed with the djent guitars, classical piano, and jazz drums could work as well as it should.
I knew I had to check out the full album when I heard Safehouse. That was my first experience with Aviations, and it's the kind of Progressive Rock/Metal that I really enjoy; meaningful lyrics, fantastic musicianship and pulling influences for a wide range of genres.
I just had so much fun grooving out to this, I need to check out some of their earlier albums now!
Standouts: Cradle, Safehouse, Pinenut, Pure, Coma
Mystified to have found this brilliant and beautifully bright, inventive, groovy, inspired album – and it has so little listens? Wuh? Huh? Genres and sounds masterfully interwoven. Vocals good enough not to just be painfully boring as is my issue with the genre recently (So bored of american guy generic singing voice) ... Deep instinct that there is a story inside this album that I'm not equipped to piece together. I hope Aviations make more music.
