AllMusic
Trapt isn't original, per se, as much as it does a good job melding its pronounced influences more seamlessly than most; the band would get a better recommendation if the record had songs that stood out a bit more.

-THE NU METAL CHALLENGE- PART 19/25

We are getting close to the end now, and it only took 19 parts to finally get to the most epic nu-metal album of all time:

Trapt - Trapt.

Regretting The Past Albums

Here it is everyone, the last album and the end of this little series. Thanks to everyone who read and liked these albums, it was fun...for the most part, okay only like 6 albums were fun but thats something I guess. So this is the last one, fucking trapt man, ain't nobody gonna defend this shit.

THE NU METAL CHALLENGE PART 19/25

I am feeling HEADSTRONG and ready to PISS my fucking PANTS so HARD oh YEAH

Blue text lyric video-core with a side dosage of male manipulator from the 80s tries his shit again in the early 90s with cheap power ballads whilst the fleeting remains of edginess and swagger he had in his early career manifest into the lowest common denominator form of the trends around him. It's truly repulsive.

Also, I don't know if it's just me or not, but this album tries way ... read more

I’m genuinely at a loss for words… this is one of the most boring, monotonous, repetitive, uninteresting, uninspired, and mid albums I’ve ever heard. Headstrong is a perfectly fine opener that sets the album with some decent energy despite its lyrics being lame and generic.. them you hear Made Of Glass and it sounds less interesting, then you hear the next song and it sounds the exact same, and then again, and again, and fucking again.

Enigma is a solid break to the monotony ... read more

Godsmack but much dumber, "Headstrong" feels like the blueprint for Skillet's anthems. The rest is just the most barebones radio rock, and playing this whole album over an episode of Bleach was a big ass mistake. I'd rather extract two of my own teeth with pliers.
