Musically it's an awkward facsimile of Staind's embittered melodrama, but its tale of addiction and relationship destruction feels like the record's emotional core.

Re-Review - December '24, originally reviewed in October '23.

This is a solid rock album. They take some solid influences from post-grunge, alternative rock, and nu-metal and their influences seem different on each track. The songs that lean towards Post-grunge/alternative rock take a lot of influence from Nickelback, Staind, Incubus, and Candlebox. Their nu-metal influence sounds a little closer to bands like Limp Bizkit, but less corny and not so frat-boy like.

So Far Away and Cold are massive highlights on this record. I think this is one of the better butt rock albums made back then. Amongst others like Staind, Nickelback, Traps, etc. I think Crossfade has better hits than any of those bands. Super catchy choruses and guitars that are fuming with power chords that are also memorable within itself. This album as a whole is hit or miss. But all of the big hits on this album are worthy enough of being on rotation for me. They are all great

Songs like "Cold" not only have so many memorable moments and wins that it's aged into an alt-metal staple... Potentially one of the top 10 butt rock songs ever. This lives in that same realm as Chevelle, Trapt, Creed, Alter Bridge, Three Days Grace, Drowning pool, Saliva, Godsmack, a ... read more

This album is basically the epitome of 2000's metal. The vibes from the album are so strong in that direction, and I love it. The guitar is very impressive, along with some pretty amazing vocals. The second half can be a bit repetitive and lyrically tiring, but overall pretty good album.

pretty good, but that last half is definitely sub-par! sonically really good, i loved those guitars and the vocals were impressive!

A perfectly mid 2000s buttrock time capsule where every song hits hard enough to be memorable for five minutes and then forgotten forever
