I had certain expectations with this album, but it has completely exceeded them, I love it, it's beautiful.

Released in 1990, El Diablito is the sophomore album by the Mexican band Caifanes. Caifanes II or El Diablito is a damn Mexican rock classic. At this point, they hadn't mixed Mexican folklore and latin jazz in their music yet, but this project separates enough from the gothic rock from the first album. I’m actually curious to know how Caifanes chose the order of the songs for this album, in the first half there are beautiful songs like “Antes de que Nos Olviden”, “La Vida no es Eterna” and “Sombras en Tiempos Perdidos” and they decided to finish the album with two songs that aren’t necessarily bad but compared to the previous ones they’re quite average. Tremendo disco y muy diferente a su disco debut.
Saul Hernández hizo un gran trabajo en este álbum con una evoluciona en su sonido en el rock alternativo y mezclando varios elementos en la cultura mexicana que junto a las vocales y su composición, lo hace una gran obra.
