it's funny how this is my most replayed Lamp album just because the album is so long and smooth with its transitions it almost feels like I'm playing a 1h15 song; however, it's a release that's definitely plainer than the rest of their discography, and so I don't really like it as much.
Consistent to its detriment.
I really enjoyed listening to the tracks "Dusk" and "Dawn" by recommendation of a friend, so I expected an 8+ from the whole album. However, I was sorely disappointed to find that my first venture into Lamp would be one of mediocrity and repetition. As much as I like the sound of this record, it does almost nothing with it over the course of 1 hour and 14 minutes, leaving me frustrated and bored. I wouldn't exactly say this record is bad, ... read more
Everything about this screams just relaxing and watching as time passes while doing nothing about it except enjoying and letting in ride over cause there really is nothing to do. I think Lamp have really done whatever you call this genre of lazing music on Dusk to Dawn that really puts a smile on anyone's face
Lamp's at it again, even in 2023! Though I will say, perhaps they should stick to single LPs. 74 mins of Lamp on one record can get a bit exhausting since much of their music is the same vibe
just very pleasant music. there are only a few tracks out of the 20 that stand out to me, but i dont think the album is really trying to be standout.
album a day day 2
while it doesn't hold up to early lamp projects, it still has some great tracks on it
favourite song - the last dance
Overall good album and a sweet send off to an amazing band, though it feels almost too safe ant times and definitely too bloated for its own good. Individual songs stand out as great, they are simply lost in the sheer number of songs on the album which can lead to them simply melding together into one drawn out, bloated experience.
At the end of the day, Lamp is still lamp and every song still retains the truly comfortable, heartwarming, and entirely human quality of Lamp making it definitely ... read more
Very happy that Lamp is still keeping the light on.
A little long though, Lamp albums are never this long and ultimately is messes with the pacing and the overall engagement with the album but still, very good.
really brilliant album, embraces all of lamps sounds but delivers something new.
a beatifull familiarity with the new. a really worthwhile album even tho its really long
That was absolutely beautiful. What a colorful experience. I'm not a person who can easily imagine visual images, it's quite the opposite, but this album is so full of colors and textures that it has managed to take me to a totally different universe. I have the feeling of having created memories of situations that I have never lived as a result of this listening.
This record has managed to surprise me with little details that make the atmosphere, quiet and as if of a calm laziness, break from ... read more
While this album from lamp is great with beautiful production and great vocals like many others have pointed out there hasn't been much growth from the band even with the large gap in between albums still great though!
after listening to this album a couple of time it left me feeling bitter sweet, i loved the way Kaori Sakakibara vocals flow though each song. i have been waiting for this album to come out for years now..
FAVORITES: a winter day, old notebook, misty town, Moon ride, Dusk.....
While a lot of the music on this LP isn’t necessarily ground breaking or innovating in a “lamp” sense it’s still lots of damn fun with most of the tracks being absolute vibes that are always fun to listen to
I liked the ambient atmosphere that this album created and found the jazz influences in it to be really fun as well. I will say that nothing really blew me away with this project but I did enjoy the listen overall and could defiantly see myself putting this on in the background while doing tasks.
Favorite Song: The Last Dance
Least Favorite: N/A
I understand why people have their issues with this release. It is rather long, a little more low-key and mellow than usual, and there aren't as many stand-out tracks as you could find on some of their previous albums.
However, you will enjoy this album if you are a hardcore Lamp fan. I am that type of fan. I think it is a fresh take on Lamp's usual sound, much more instrumental and there is a bit more variety than some reviews give it credit.
Absolute amazing vibe though and through while being a pretty long album with a whopping 20 songs in total there was not a single miss in the slightest. Just another great album from Lamp once again, great production throughout and to go along with that amazing vocals from the two. While not my favorite album out of their whole discography it is still great.
