With pop music gradually crumbling under the heel of the algorithm-driven technocracy, their grotesque bricolage of styles isn’t so easily replicated or defined. ILION finds SLIFT banging at the walls, and at the very least, leaving some serious dents in the process.
Even if, despite the constant locomotion, the general vibe feels lacking in variety at points, as a whole, Ilion is another welcome chapter in the story of Slift.
SLIFTIES ASSEMBLE!! Anyone wanna trade friendship bracelets with french flags and skulls on it at the next slift show
No idea who this band is but saw the user score was pretty high so I checked it out. Really glad I did this is some great metal space rock. Defo give this a listen
Every song ever released would be as long as these if each passage were similarly stretched beyond recognition.
Favorite Track - Confluence
Least Favorite Track - Weaver's Weft
This is the sort of shit that would've blown a stoner's mind if it came out 50 years ago. Unfortunately, it came out last year, and it turns out that the same riff for 13 minutes isn't very interesting if you're sober.
