A consistent album that manages to balance beats and melody in a way that allows capsule to remain at once poppy and accessible, as well as musically one step ahead of their 2007 contemporaries.
In the span of just over 9 months, we go from one of Capsule's best albums in Sugarless Girl, to one of their worst albums, in Flash Back. This album is not good, really at all. Sugarless Girl was a house album that felt fun and full of life. Flash Back feels like the barest and deadest house party the suburbs have ever seen. This album is quite literally the definition of a mixed bag. It has some amazing tracks like Eternity and I'm Feeling You, but a lot of the album is really mediocre. You Are the Reason is unbearably bad, with the vocals and beat being completely out of sync with each other and not even the chorus being able to save it. Tracks like Love Me and Get Down also lean into cringe voiceovers. But the album is still decent overall.
