MC Blu and Roy Royal's 'Royal Blu' might just be one of Blu's most solid projects since 'The Color Blu(e)'.
It's short but refreshing and positive jazz hip-hop album that I'm really enjoying. I've been thirsting for this vibe for a long time fr
This is the closest Blu has come to the quality of 2020's 'Miles' and 2021's 'The Color Blu(e)' since they dropped. This is mainly due to the flawless, classic-sounding, soul-sampling production from Roy Royal (the record scratches are also a nice touch). Roy Royal doesn't have much music out at this point but definitely has a bright future ahead if this EP is anything to go by.
Favourite Tracks: L.A. Blue, The Royal, The Same OG, The Priceless*, The Living God, The Legendary, Before I Go
Honestly Blu's best EP by a few miles, the production is energetic and refreshing, giving him room to grow. The only possible complaint I could have is the length.

I mean it was good enough. I just felt some parts of the record came off as a little cringeworthy. Like saying that he doesn't listen to new rap. But overall it's a good enough album.
