A band that's hard to confuse with anyone else is quite rare. Lali Ouna is one of them. They blend tiny electronica, lo-fi, indie, and fashion-channel music. They are considered one of the first trendsetters in the indietronica genre.

Germany's Lali Puna's debut, 'Tridecoder' reminds me much too much of Stereolab. And, while I really enjoy Synth-pop, I'm not too enamored with either Stereolab or Lali Puna. There appears to be much love for Valerie Trebeljahr whom I find, frankly, underwhelming. So, for those drawn to the banal... This one's for you. For the rest of us... This debut is lackluster.
