This guitar tone is getting incredibly stale. There were a couple cool tracks on here, but everything else was just kind of annoying to listen to.

yet another holdover from my corekid days.
Gravemind are among the few bands to get this style of modern metalcore right. simple reason: they can actually write riffs. sure most of them are pretty simplistic, yet they manage to be memorable nonetheless. i also think that their choruses are god tier, like in the songs Deathtouch, Anhedonia and Aloy. the last two, by the way, are prime examples of how you should write less heavy, alt metal cuts on records like this.
