I'm late for this I know... I've been a little inconsistent lately because of bad sleeping and failing classes and I've also been doing Ketamine and Molly all Friday and Saturday so please forgive me. Speaking of drugs, we have Starfire by Darko over here. ITS ABSOLUTE INSANITY
After their previous full-length effort, "Oni" and their EP "Deathmask Pt. 2", Darko were quite on the streak. Their blend of Deathcore and Nu-Metalcore always works, especially when ... read more
Darko are a band that I have some past experience with. I may have never found them groundbreaking and have some issues with them like their lyrics, yet I've never really despised anything they've done, until now. What I found at least admirable from this band was the fact that they were less repetitive compared to the sea of bands sounding the same to the point where the deathcore genre has become an ant death spiral of the same song writings and executions. I never found Darko to be one of the more compelling bands in the modern deathcore scene, but regardless, I was pretty excited to check this out. Second, the mix of more trance-y elements on songs like Distant World clash SUPER hard with the heavy "DjEnT" guitars and super fast drums. Third, these lyrics try SO hard to be tough on heavy songs, and super insincere and ... read more
This is definitely Darkos weakest album imo! I feel like the gave us way to much but most of it's really good but of the songs I find boring and I forget about alot! But this album does have my favorite song from Darko that being finding love in a world full of tragedy ๐
I can understand the concept of this album but it's just way to overwhelming for me, it's just pure noise at times and it's not for me at all.
