Overall, Oni is exactly what you expected, but with the bonus of some unexpected surprises.

Brief Review: Def one of the more interesting and in some pockets intense deathcore experiences I’ve heard, but it’s muddled down by some ideas that I’m not too in love with or am sold on. This album is def brimming with potential tho, so I’m interested in seeing where this band can go from here.
HARD AS FUCKING FUCK
definitely Darko's best project, Tom fucking kills it with his vocals and Baby J is seriously such a good drummer and guitarist, i love this whole fucking thing, Infinite Beauty may be favorite from this album, mainly cuz it's so fucking beautiful, the shoegazey elements really shine on that song, i also love that Evolving comes after this, cuz that makes the insanity of this album come forth even more.
love it, a must hear for fans of deathcore.

This is so incredibly angsty and djenty that I absolutely love it. The energy coming off of this is what I needed today. Like it's a big fuck you to everyone. Not to mention the screams are epic as hell.
The whole thing is insane in the most complimentary way possible!

A bit better in some aspects, a bit worse in others.
This is probably the best they're going to get, having heard the next two projects before. But man, this album is brimming with confidence, with it mostly being warranted. The instrumentals are better mixed, Tom's vocals are more insane, the guests are even more recognizable and add a lot to the album, and the cleaner vocals on the softer songs are much more refined. My 3rd favorite darko album imo this album has everything we love about darko! This album has maybe the best production of all their work not only that it has some of the best vocals from Tom probably ever! My only problem is I wish infinite beauty and oni were longer! Also is definitely Darkos best cover art
