Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
The Young Folks
90

CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST is a masterful record.

Black Country, New Road - For the first time
The Young Folks
90

For the first time is a freewheeling, experimental opus that sees Black Country, New Road firmly planting their flag down in the music scene.

Fleet Foxes - Shore
The Young Folks
90

Shore is an album about the growth of individuals and how we should progress in times of hardship. Each song feels like a warm blanket that rests over you. The way that Fleet Foxes are able to conjure up such emotion, especially given the circumstances surrounding the time we’re in, is a wonder to behold.

The 1975 - Notes On A Conditional Form
The Young Folks
80

Notes on a Conditional Form is a strange album that will be undoubtedly be alienating to some. However, for a band of this size to end their run with something this ambitious is worth at least some praise. Whether you like it or not, there will undoubtedly be a song or two that will stick with you.

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs
The Young Folks
90

All My Heroes are Cornballs can be seen as a welcome, if not an unorthodox sequel to 2018’s Veteran. Cornballs still possesses Peggy’s trademark sense of humor, but the moments that impress the most are when the music is somber and meditative.

Logic - Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
The Young Folks
20

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind sees Logic bankrupt, both creatively and conceptually.

Logic - YSIV
The Young Folks
90
Although it is the last entry in the Young Sinatra series, Logic was able it off with an album that soars over many of his earlier albums. Between the excellent production, technical ability, and lyrical subject matter, Logic was able to craft a solid piece of work that cements him as one of rap’s current heavyweights.
Troye Sivan - Bloom
The Young Folks
80

Overall, Bloom is a solid pop album and a notch in the win column for Troye Sivan.

Blood Orange - Negro Swan
The Young Folks
100

An absolutely stunning venture into the nuances of anxiety, depression, and loneliness within Black/LGBT communities and how to navigate around those emotions in our 2018 world.

Death Grips - Year of the Snitch
The Young Folks
90
The tracks still feel as anomalous as you would expect, but with a whole new sound to accompany them, they feel fresh.
KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS
The Young Folks
90

It takes the best qualities of both artists, the dense and expansive production of Kanye, and the relatability and dreamlike melodies of Kid Cudi.

Tee Grizzley - Activated
The Young Folks
50
The attempts at trying to go commercial hinder the album from ultimately being something great, which is unfortunate because I still believe that Tee Grizzley is a capable artist with a lot to say.
