Two of my favorite Black Metal projects in recent times dropping a split? Hell yeah!
The Evilfeast side reminds me a lot of Lost Horizons of Wisdom with the production and the more straight-forward Black Metal sound with more minimal synth work especially coming off previous releases.
And the Gnipahålan side is an Atmospheric Black Metal ripper! Both sides are Atmospheric Black Metal excellence.
Really hope Evilfeast drops new material soon as it's been a little over 5 years since ... read more
More polished and symphonic compared to his earlier albums, but still carries that raw and evil edge. I believe this is his peak so far as the musicianship goes! The guitars and especially the drumming is at an all-time high with this release. And the atmosphere never gets tiring or boring despite the 60+ minute runtime.
Evilfeast is certainly one of the best Black Metal projects in recent times! I really hope he drops something new soon since its nearing 10 years since this albums release at ... read more
Frontierer but even more raw and visceral. Consider yourself annihilated after you listen to this.
Creative, diverse, and avant-garde Thrash Metal that has a progressive edge to it. Great riffing throughout. And a unique and prominent vocal performance that has a sort of frantic and tortured sound to them which adds into the all over the place instrumentation.
Would recommend to fans of Depressive Age or Mekong Delta! Or if you want to hear a one-of-a-kind Thrash album.
A nice Polish Black Metal influenced album. Fast and melodic riffing but doesn't fall into full-fledged Melo-Black territory.
Really good and consistent Boogie! Catchy and funky just the way you would want and expect within this style.
Putting the somewhat ironic status of this aside, I think this is a really good and unique Trance project! Though it does overstay its welcome at 70+ minutes. If the length was trimmed by 30~ minutes it'd feel tighter and more concise. But the blend of Uplifting Trance, Electro-Pop, and Dream Pop is very pleasant to listen to despite the length.
I believe if he continued with this project, he could've made something truly amazing! But alas.
A beautiful collection of instrumental Acoustic "DSBM" tracks. It's incredible how this was all improvised because these tracks have to be some of my favorite guitar melodies I've ever heard.
A short but sweet slice of raw and primitive Japanese Hardcore! I'm a sucker for that buzzsaw guitar tone and it is presented in this release.
This collection really showcases his ability to create and produce some really good beats! It's not listed here, but the bonus track Rain Song Instrumental beat is heavenly and my favorite off this tape.
Majestic Symphonic / Atmospheric Black Metal in vein of Paysage d'Hiver! I think this is the ideal Evilfeast album, it keeps the raw and evil edge of their earlier sound whilst not being overly keyboard driven or symphonic like subsequent releases. Though I really enjoy anything this project has made!
An inconsistent project with a couple of bad songs but ultimately a solid project. Not sure why Kodeen Storm isn't listed but it's one of Slikks best solo songs!
Not something I would revisit often because of its length but I think it's better than the 2013 version. There's more tracks I like off of it and I found it more enjoyable overall despite the bloat.
Some good tracks and some bad ones. The songs without Alexia just aren't as special as the ones that feature her.
An incredible Memphis Rap tape! The sampling and production creates an atmosphere that will drown you the entire runtime. And all of the MCs are killing it on the verses on here! Dare I say this is "Proto" Cloud Rap.
Solid Pagan Black Metal that sounds like a continuation of Temnozor! Which makes sense since 3 of the members played for Temnozor. This album isn't innovative or bringing anything new to the table but an enjoyable listen if you want another Pagan Black Metal release to add to your rotation. And/or if you're a big fan of Temnozor!
