Only song I knew before this album was Feel It and I've been pleasantly surprised by this project. The album is very consistent overall which is a short pit fall foe the reason that the songs can sound the same and blend together at times. One word to sum up the album, VIBES. You can tell D4vd took great care and careful handling with creating this project. You won't find another debut album like this for the rest of this year.
What are these lyrics dude? I think one day these guy will break into the mainstream and it won't be ready for them. There just so versatile and vibrant that you can't pit them in only one genre. This was such a fun listen. Consistent album throughout even after the strong singles in the front.
This isn't a trailblazing album for the next generation but for its genre it's near the best of its own. It's so dreamy and atmospheric that it's near impossible not to lose yourself in it's instrumentals. This has been a great listening experience and will listen many more times. To be honest I've never even heard of this band until I found them on the this day on music section of this website.
It feels like both artists lose themselves in each other's styles which makes them indistinguishable from each other and not in a good way.
Never fucking misses. Throwaway tracks but still are good to great. Wish he extended the songs a little longer to get fully sunked into them. Far from his best work but it's pretty standard as far as Westside Gunn goes. Have to say I had higher expectations than what I got but I can't complain.
Ken has dropped better before this. The real killer on this project is how aside from some stand out tracks most of the songs blend together. With that being said I can see the improvement I'm some areas since his last LP.
This was such a cohesive and plotted out perfectly track list even including the first ep stacked on top of the album. You don't find many projects let alone artists like this.
This was SO MUCH FUN! Never been a dubstep guy but this is actually good.
The production is so layered an maximalist throughout. It's like cocaine for music heads. I don't know what the genre this belongs to but it fucks.
I personally think this is the best BC,NR we have ever seen. There are beautiful mixes of sounds all throughout this project. This is truly something special.
Decided to listen since I wanted to be prepared for the new album. This is the first time I have listened to ant BC,NR. I actually found myself loving these tracks throughout the listening experience. I have not ever heard much to anything quite like this record.
Finally got around to listening to this on it's 10th anniversary. It's so emotionally dense that it's hard not to get lost in his melancholy voice and instrumentation.
Was invested in the start but started to lose me in the end. I can tell a lot of effort was put into making this a very specific listening experience, and it was enjoyable.
Love the different sounds on the album. This shit can fuck you up though.
Deluxe songs only
The new tracks are miles better than the tracks actually on the album.
Deep dive into Earl Sweatshirt's depression. The more music especially in concoius hip hop the more I recognize Earl's influence. Everything Earl attempts to do on this album he hits and beyond perfectly. He just spits on every track.
I just have a weird feeling that it's missing something. Lyrics sad ad fuck tho. It's clear that Michelle is very talented with her songwriting throughout.
This project encapsulates Chicago rap. So far for me it's AOTY. The production is absolutely heavenly throughout the project. Saba and No I.D. Just have amazing chemistry. This is what I've been waiting for from Saba since Care For You. Immaculate vibes always. Best concoius hip hop album I've heard in a minute. Saba has now passed up J. Cole in the all-time greats leader board.
Started to drag out with too many interludes and random ear piercing sounds. Still was a very cohesive album with bangers throughout.
