Just all around great sweet indie rock. No track is mindblowing on it's own but the sheer consistency is absolutely smth to write home abt
Arguably their best compositions and ESPECIALLY vocal performances knocked down a few (or more than a few) pegs due to the most plasticy mixing ever. And this is coming from someone who doesn't really care about mixing too much but like... Everything is so crunchy, and not in a cool noise rocky way, it's just weird. Is this just the digital stream or is the vinyl like this too??
Still, the song writing is good enough to carry it.
Live albums, especially ones made quite a bit after the original release of some of these songs, are usually disappointing, but this is not. Fun release, equally as fun as the rest of their albums, I think this should absolutely be treated as a canonical album in their discography along w/ cubist castle and black foliage
Really excellent studying music, 3rd green typewriters is one of the most beautiful songs ever made
