I actually liked the dark ambient parts of it

there are some fun ideas but overall this is nothing really
his previous work had me more engaged

Not that long ago I bought the 2018 boxset edition with second CD bonus track from the same session and DVD with the video from it and it just happened to be the best thing I ever bought. Not only it is nicely packaged overall but the sound was remixed and remastered and they sure did a great job on this. Original mix was good but this is like hundred times better!
Sadly they didn't release it on spotify so you have only original mix on streamings but you can find it on internet
