I regret giving this a 91, best album of all time for me personally. Thank you Monkeys
Extremely groovy pace and awesome feature. Great summer song and new direction. Dystopian joy is how I would describe it!
My goodness, these two songs combined give me the same type of rush as the transition from "The Suburbs" did when going into "Ready To Start". With the Lighting, I feel as if the transition is done better and maybe more intentionally but it pays off. I will say as a collective the second portion is miles better than the first but as a combined experience it's one to listen to with the windows down and smiling.
After almost a year after this single dropped, for me, it's clear to say that Tyler released his better songs within the album rather than as singles. I think the lush and boastful nature is still really fun to me, however, it hasn't aged as well as other singles from 3 years ago like Earfquake.
I'm not sure why but the aesthetic of this fun-going song just doesn't hit as well as it does with everyone else. I've given it multiple listens for months now but it could be Youngboy, it could be the production, or the lyrics I'm not sure but still tolerable :)
Yes.....ok the creation of this song is a perfect mixture of three things. 1. Adding features where they belong to shine. 2. Staying true to the first leaks from 80 Degrees and building on top of it while not changing the entirety of the song. 3. Adding elements that make it fit well with the Donda and still make it a great single. I approve Mr. West.
Yep the deluxe gets a little more dull than the singles that came out but for the songs on the original tracklist, I’m really impressed and joyful. Other than dead butterflies which when performed live sounds amazing but the studio version is quite underwhelming, this album was so refreshing. Even the deluxe songs really grew on me. Especially Opium, the pure anxiety for the beat drop reminds me of Dance Yourself Clean by LCD and is an amazing song to just dance to like DARE was when it ... read more
I’m not the first and probably won’t be the last but…everyone relax and realize that this is the most shithouse collection of songs for a reason. Damon legit said himself in a laughing matter than he didn’t put any effort into any of the songs and they were just for fun….while on tour….on a bus….on a 2010 IPad. Last note, HillBilly Man has been one of my favorite rhythmic/experimental sounds for a while and I’m not really sure why, like pretty ... read more
This literally makes me cry every time I listen to it. Waterfalls Homie
...This will probably be one of the most ageless songs ever made. Mainly because of how selfless it is and how it’s only a song used a vessel to reach anyone in need to find themselves.
