twenty one pilots - Clancy
82

The duo returns with Trench's aura and hunger but do they show another side, but positively or negatively? It is simply different, it shows other sounds and characters in each of its songs, going through many different layers and themes. A significant improvement over their last album but it falls short of the great Trench. Nevertheless, They show a clean and solid tracklist, a pristine and unique intro in their discography and a shocking ending. It is a good return that leaves you with a ... read more

Megadeth - So Far, So Good... So What!
69

A long somewhat repetitive instrumental intro, some somewhat bland tracks, a somewhat emptier production, not much variety... However, on the other hand, we have memorable tracks with truly heavy and unique grooves, others use colors and harmonies that they would develop more in their upcoming albums, Mustaine is still at his vocal peak and how can we forget the great cover of Anarchy in the UK! It may not be at the level of their previous two, but "So Far, So Good... So What" is not ... read more

Megadeth - Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?
84

Another classic thrash metal album, with great songs and mythical and memorable riffs perfect for headbanging with them. Varied tempos, grooves of all kinds and apotheotic and denouncing lyrics as we saw in the first album. Personally, the first album had more authenticity and variety than this one and I liked it more, however this album stays in line and puts Megadeth in a more prestigious name.

Megadeth - Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!
86

From the gloomy reference to Johann Sebastian Bach to the funny and bipolar final track, going through the different grooves, riffs, unexpected changes, choruses... This album is undoubtedly one of the roughest and most natural thrash metal albums of the 80s, one of the best debuts of bands as great as Megadeth and a title to commemorate. Complex and original structures and elements within what thrash is, without leaving aside the rawness and explosiveness of all the instruments and Mustaine's ... read more

At first I felt like Kanye and company had taken a step forward in their career with innovation and ingenuity, but I realized that simply this album It's a bunch of largely mediocre beats, oppressive and empty lyrics and little desire for work at first glance. Few songs feel unique or memorable, production very much in need of improvement and a waste of ideas for the most part. It doesn't mean that it has its high points or some good songs, but for the most part this album is boring, nothing ... read more

Pink Floyd - The Wall
90

One of the best examples of a concept album in rock history. The use of motifs, their development during the album in a reasoned way, the constantly changing mix of styles and textures and the "cinematographicity" of this album are exceptional and really awesome. The only drawback I find in this album is that it depends a lot on its concept to exist, so without the concept it would not be the same (something that other previous albums have managed to achieve). In short, The Wall is ... read more

Tears for Fears - The Seeds of Love
88

A overwhelming album, perfectly measured and composed, with exceptional and epic production and a level of creating unique soundscapes and musical journeys. Tears for Fears creates a legendary work that needs its greatness and all its elements to demonstrate how incredible it is.

Aphex Twin - Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2
63

Interesting idea and layout where we can appreciate different layers and styles. Beyond experimentation and a few loops, I don't see much to say. A fairly expendable EP with not much material to be excepted.

Aphex Twin - Analord 10
83

Richard doesn't lower his level and continues to release beautiful and enjoyable material. With With Analord 10, Aphex creates an EP divided into two parts where he boasts good structuring in his songs apart from his already known talent for producing and creating únic atmospheres. A very beautiful and personal EP, one of his best.

83

One of the best singles/EP that Aphex Twin has released. With only 3 tracks, it summarizes his style and all his faces within the world of electronics (prioritizing the use of ambient elements and very complex drum patterns). It shines with its sound design, its original ideas and the use of sampling and the way the songs are put together, both in the beautiful and idyllic Nannou and in the dystopian Formula or the legendary Windowlicker.

Aphex Twin - "Girl / Boy" E.P.
82

Richard moves to another side, using the frenetic and glitched drums that characterized him so much but with very different instrumental bases (some acoustic chamber music, others calmer or more ambient and others typical of Aphex's IDM). Variety, work and a good final product would sum up this EP, Aphex continues trying new things.

Aphex Twin - Donkey Rhubarb
80

Entertaining, varied, avant-garde, original, environmental and complete. With only 4 tracks, this EP takes us through different landscapes and atmospheres typical of Richard that our ears appreciate. Still personal and experimental, Donkey Rhubarb is a truly refreshing and diverse EP.

Aphex Twin - Ventolin E.P

Let's see, I understand the structure and objectives of Aphex in each remix, but honestly there are a few where I don't understand what he was supposed to think it was going to sound like. There are some that I find quite painful and chaotic and others that are okay, which makes me not know what to think about this compilation of mixes. I guess it's interesting in some points but boring and harsh in others.

Aphex Twin - Xylem Tube E.P.
50

In this project it is more difficult for me to find pleasant elements for my personal ear, finding many elements and tracks on this EP somewhat monotonous and tiring. Compared to their previous EPs, here Aphex shows its darker and harder side, experimental and not so much environmental but its essence is felt. It's still Richard and his beats, but it hasn't quite clicked for me.

Aphex Twin - Digeridoo
65

The sound design is key in this EP, as it is impressive for this era and its context as Aphex could create these tracks. The only thing that doesn't quite add up is the good or easy-listening, because of some really loud or disruptive sounds and moments.

AFX - Analogue Bubblebath
68

Aphex's first EP is simply a compilation of 4 acid and ambient demos that would mark their sound in its early stages. You can appreciate the innovation and purity of the beats and soundscapes from here, but there's not much to say.

Aphex Twin - On
70

4 tracks very different from each other but united by the essence of Aphex, with its dreamy and futuristic loops typical of IDM but using production, drums and personal resources. 4 interesting but above all environmental tracks. There's not much I can take away from here other than how successful the atmosphere and originality of the entire EP are.

Bill Evans - New Jazz Conceptions
78

Bill Evans, one of the myths and greatest pianists in the jazz scene ever, starts his solo career with New Jazz Conceptions, an album with the most classic feeling of 50's jazz but with the innovative and personal brilliant touch of Evans's hands. Great tracklist and great musicians, specially the main character who looks fresh, new and with a long way to go.

Roy Hargrove - Hard Groove
93

One of my favorite and most underrated albums in the neo-soul, funk, jazz and fusion scene of the decade. The mixes between genres such as hip-hop and funk, with the collaboration of renowned artists, are brutal and the best that can be found. The production, textures and arrangements of each song are very compact and fluid, and they fit perfectly with the very good compositions of Roy and his team. I will not get tired of listening to this album, without a doubt it should have more prominence ... read more
