Pretty fun but a lot of these songs I think went a bit too long and could have used fighting up. Unfortunately the Smooth Criminal cover over shadows this entire album. That being said the smooth criminal cover is one of the greatest covers of all time.
I feel kinda nothing on this album. It's style is bland and there's nothing interesting on it. Just pretty forgettable but nothing offensive.
Looking at SZNZ as a whole it just feels like a big marketing gimmick but the entire thing feels so whatever. This is a weird one, kinda all over the place stylistically. Some songs really worked for me with the synths, some didn't. I wish a few songs were longer it feels like they end just as their getting into their own. Mixed bag for me but mostly positive on it.
Liked this a lot more than I thought I would. The rock opera style is really well blended with Weezer's pop rock style really well and while the lyrics aren't deep they got a bit of edge to them. A lot of fun, kinda wish this was what Van Weezer was.
