With the arrival of Winter, this double-album – which is how it will no doubt be categorised in the future – stands proudly as a whole, thoroughly complete work. It’s unified, enterprising, and truly progressive for the group.
Winter almost feels like a reward for sticking out the other SZNZ.
Sure, it would have been better if Weezer leaned into these strengths, instead of adding wanky prog breakdowns and unnecessarily fussy rhythmic shifts. But they're a nice reminder that Cuomo hasn't lost his knack for golden melodies.
(this review will pretty much only make sense on a near future when a certain bald guy shares his doo doo takes on this and unleash his drones)

Yeah, I’ve been putting it off long enough, it’s time for Weezer. I’ve never been a Weezer fan; though I enjoy a far few of their albums, they’ve never turned me into a die-hard fan like so many others. From the lively production of, the amazing instrumental breaks, the Christmas sounds trailing everything, and Rivers successfully sounding dramatic for the first time in a while. This was done GREAT.

Yo wtf people hate this one?? I genuinely think this is one of the best things the band has put out, which is insane considering the rest of SZNZ kind of sucks ass. I seriously come back to this all the time it really does feel like some classic Weezer to me. If you think basketball is a bad song then I’m sorry but we can never be friends.
