With the arrival of Winter, this double-album – which is how it will no doubt be categorised in the future – stands proudly as a whole, thoroughly complete work. It’s unified, enterprising, and truly progressive for the group.
Winter almost feels like a reward for sticking out the other SZNZ.
Sure, it would have been better if Weezer leaned into these strengths, instead of adding wanky prog breakdowns and unnecessarily fussy rhythmic shifts. But they're a nice reminder that Cuomo hasn't lost his knack for golden melodies.
(this review will pretty much only make sense on a near future when a certain bald guy shares his doo doo takes on this and unleash his drones)
aoty when an album commits the unforgivable crime of being fun 😡😡😡😡
Alright overall, far from their old glory though. I Want a Dog was a really good song though.g

I like this one quite a bit. I think it has more soid ground to stand on than Autumn, and it's probably got the best sound of any of these SZNZ projects. This feels the most sincere of any of these, and it definitely helps this project. Several genuinely great songs on this project, like I Want A Dog and Iambic Pentameter. Just a lot of fun. Basketball is a little forgettable, and a little dumb, but the rest of this makes up for it by being fun.
