Incredible jazz, La La Land clearly took some inspiration from this, maybe even the name The Messengers?
Just okay, country vibes alright, and some good individual songs, but not Neil's best work
Got messed up with my chronological re-listen and listened to this after BEYONCÉ and was a little confused, thought she was having her Lover after Rep moment but once I realized this is before BEYONCÉ that makes a lot more sense in terms of musical progression. This is more interesting musically and there are some really great songs but also a couple songs that are sort of generic which brings this down. But still very fun all around, maybe her most accessible/easy listening album?
Of course Crazy in Love is the only standout, but this isn't as bad as I first thought. Good background R&B but nothing all that special besides the first track
This is the Johnny Cash I've been looking for. Has so many of his greatest songs in one listing, only dud is Bad News, which is really terrible, hard to listen to, but other than that, this is some wonderful country, easy listening, so great basically whole way through. Would show this to someone to give them an idea of Cash
Liked slightly more on another listen, lots of great songs at the beginning, but the interludes don't do much for me, feels like Beyoncé explaining things that don't need to be explained and they don't really add anything to my understanding of the songs. That said the songs are mostly very good
