This album shows a band that has finally found its sound and is expanding on it, unafraid of the direction it is taking them.
Foxwarren comes out of the shadows after 7 years to finally release their sophomore album. But this time the band is doing it differently with a more upbeat flair; sampling soundtrack of 50's and 40's movies to complement each songs. Is it cool? Yes, very much. Does it become annoying after a while, absolutely. But, I can't help but just being happy for this band. They did something unique, and that's what matters.
This entry seemed a bit soulless compared to their previous albums, but there's enough good moments to satisfy me.
Kadavar decides to take a different approach on this LP by exploring a more radio-friendly version of themselves, but unfortunately not a version we haven't heard before.
It's hard to listen to them after the scandal, but I gotta say that this album has a very chill dance electronics vibe to it. I enjoyed it even though I feel guilty about it.
I get this is ambient music, but aside from "window's peak" there's nothing that stands out.
A good collection of B-sides and demos, but not good enough to impress me either. Aside from a few tracks, this album falls into the same sound that the band has been experimenting with since their creation.
I definitely like this one more than its predecessor. It's more consistent, it feels fresh and familiar at the same time, and the lyrics are interestingly dark and contemplative.
Just like its breakup theme, the album is messy, raw and undeniably hard hitting.
The wheel isn't re-invented here, but instead is longing for a nostalgic sound that might be bygone, but still is effective.
Vigra Boys make life seems like a big joke with their witty social commentary on their 4th LP.
A folk-rock album that is versatile in-nature, while still capturing the essence of the genre.
14 minutes of percussions and sounds. Call me basic, but I'll stick to the main albums.
They toned it down a bit on the auto tuned which feels nice, and this album is short and concise with hard-hitting pop punk songs. P.S : they still haven't figured out how to make a good album cover yet.
Men I Trust grant us with two album this year! This one is definitely more acoustic than their previous releases, adding a certain coziness to their sound that is perfect for those cold december nights. I just wished the album would be a bit more groundbreaking. Some songs sounds like they could of belong on the untourable album or perhaps on an other project.
Neil Francis releases a hell of a funky album that seems fun at first, but becomes quickly repetive after a few listen.
