its just vibe music... uncaptivating unrewarding uninteresting (though what they want to do relies on all of those aspects), fine for the background. some really unique moments throughout ruined by silly cliche copout climaxes... a lot of the songs are really uplifting in an unappealing way and bosses hang especially kind of sounds like coldplay, i like coldplay but a gybe song with coldplayisms like that is bound be like the most generic motivational postrock bleh
i think they were just having fun
really disappointing in hindsight...i loved this for about a week when it came out but i've been gradually realising how much less focused it is and how it fails to have much of an effect on me unlike most if not all other swans albums
my biggest problem here is a lot of these songs are just way too simple with every element doing pretty much the same thing , so much of the album (its just two songs but nearly a whole quarter of the runtime) mostly does the same pounding 4/4 pulse without ... read more
