Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
100

I’ve finally made the decision to listen to this album again. And it was one if my best decisions ever. At first I didn’t like this album much, especially during first listen, maybe because I wasn’t prepared for it fully. In my years of living so far, I have had my moments of introspection but not deeply. Not as far as this album has gone. It hurt to listen to experiences that reminded me of my own. I wasn’t even that deep into the album whenever I first cried, I was ... read more

Hill Collective - Tonal Prophecy

This feels very sun ra inspired, especially the first song.

Amon Tobin - Bricolage

Cool jazzstep album. Falls off in some bits at the end but the tracks that come before it make up for it heavily. I need more of this in my life!!

I like it, but it’s certainly not enough. Could be better

Q-Tip - Kamaal the Abstract

I thought based off of these rating and reviews I wouldn’t particularly like this album, how wrong was I…. I love experimental albums with alll of my heart, you can check my profile to keep check of that. I don’t have huge critiques of this album, so I will just say what I like.

Some tracks on here sound like a blur, like you’re drunk and you can remember the song but it sounds off in some way. It makes me feel like something was unresolved in the tracks, but I still ... read more

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory

I listened to this years ago and forgot most of the tracks, which was unfortunate because I love this album now. Tribe has been a part of my life since I was in elementary, so the songs I do remember really give me nostalgia . Amazing album that I know will be apart of my life further on.

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life

Why didn’t I listen to this sooner…?

Gong - Magick Brother

Meh, just not exactly feeling this

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams

This shit even has my mom shocked, SHE BARELY LISTENS TO RAP.

A Tribe Called Quest - We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service

This feels like it’s a true evolution of the Tribe’s sound, and I’m glad it is. And I’m happy that this is the note that they end the discog on. It feels like everything that Tribe was and is as a group.

De La Soul - and the Anonymous Nobody...

This proved to me that after so many years in the industry, De La Soul can still reinvent their sound. I was a bit underwhelmed by the first couple of tracks (but I still enjoyed them), due to their beats but when I got further into it, I knew that my thinking was wrong. It wasn’t a plain chill hip-hop album, and I’m glad. Also, I teared up to Exodus & Here In After, I can’t tell you why though. Overall, this was a truly pleasant experience for my ears, and I’ll ... read more

Kinneret - All That I Know

I find this very boring, and I was surprised that It was. Because I have listened to other projects by her (and not have rated them), I thought this was going to be good… It doesn’t have much to it unfortunately, there was something there but it didn’t get caught.

Lil B - Everything Based

Just a fun project to listen to, really enjoyed this. Something to turn off my brain to (mostly).

De La Soul - Stakes Is High

Better than 3 Feet High, and I have that as a 10. 😭

Angry Blackmen - The Legend of ABM

I find this boring, but I do see the potential in this group. I hope they grow on the sound they have without it sounding the same on most tracks, which is my main reason why I just can’t really like this project. They have their style and lyrics down, they need to develop it.

Future - WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU
NR

After this, they should call their next album together “We Never Trusted You”

Miguel Atwood-Ferguson - Les Jardins Mystiques Vol. 1

Starts off a bit weak but picks up later on.

Shabazz Palaces - Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star

When you get this album, you can GET IT or just still not like this, which is fine. When I first heard this years back, I found this very forgettable, but I come back now to see that it’s very much the opposite. This album has everything down that the group (most likely) wanted, from the album cover to the songs (which fit perfectly with each other by the way). Such an amazing album that changed my view on weirder music before I listened to things like it on the daily.

Hi-Posi - Gluon

Whoever did production on this you’re my goat!!!
This is a relaxing and fun project to get through and that’s why I like it so much.
I’m not disappointed at all in any of the songs, they did their purpose well in the scheme of the album. And when listening to them by itself it really just makes it standout from any other track you’re going to play.
