Sematary - SCREAMING FOREST
95

Welcome to Screaming Forest.

Sematary is a trap/witch house artist from California who originally gained fame in the underground from his collaborations with fellow singer Ghost Mountain. They made two mixtapes and countless singles which really solidified Sematary and him into one of the most prominent forces in the underground trap scene. Although he doesn’t sound exactly like other names like Iazye and Yabujin, he’s still a scary force with just how dedicated his fan base has ... read more

Before writing, I'd like to say ty to anyone who has followed me and read these reviews. Means a bunch, ty <3
Anyways, onto the final part of the Kill Your$elf $aga. Truly the end of an era, as somebody who has been a fan since the very beginning I can still recall the first time I listened to this series and more specifically this release. This part is truly an experience, it combines all of the other best parts of the other $agas into one fluid EP.

Although the second to last EP has some really great production and writing, the vocals can be quite unbearable at times, which is what prevents me from giving this a higher score. Failure By Design uses these weirdly delivered vocals in a good way however, wish I could say the same for the last song lol.

Now we're back, this is an insane ep. It's more trap metal than the last two and it really helps add a lot of the energy that was missing with the past couple $agas. All three of the songs are honestly really hype enducing and produced well, little to no complains here besides I miss the random bonus tracks that were on earlier releases.

Although this is pretty experimental as others have said, once again it's really not that interesting knowing what the group can accomplish.

Guys, please be good again. :( I want to end this series off of a good note, please lol. This part of the $aga is so forgettable and unremarkable, even more than the last. The production is great as always but this does virtually nothing to try and hook me in for a full listen.

zzzz....Almost didn't write this because I forgot about half of this EP. Unfortunately XV is very inconsistent in just about everything: features, beats, performances, lyrics etc, and it just ends up as a project I won't return to. It was nice for the moment I listened to it, I suppose.

Okay, the production on that final track nearly made me cry. Insane shit. Although this part doesn't live up to the previous ones, it's still very impressive and enjoyable. The first song "FUCK" has a strikingly different atmosphere than the rest of the EP, but it's still welcome to my ears. Pump Fake was pretty okay, although I did think that the production was good. The final song Venom features Shakewell and is a great song all around, down to the raw ... read more

Aight, just as I said that part 12 would surely be my favorite part, Ruby and Scrim come through with this, holy fucking shit mother of god I am once again so impressed with the quality of this release. The Atlantis Saga is quick moving, trippy, and aquatic, as well as very well rapped and produced. Lyric wise this thing falls behind but at this point I don't even care because I'm about to start levitating ong. Ruby and Scrim keep up the insaaaane high streak for ... read more

Hoooly shit. This is the best part of the saga so far, and the scary thing is that it still could improve from well, here. A 97/100 is a score that I believe should not be given lightly but this EP deserves every drop of praise. Like, the final track is in the running for my favorite $B song. The other two songs are masterpieces as well, it's shocking seeing the growth in each artist beat wise/rap wise, and this EP is just top grade music and just truly an ... read more

Although it suffers from a short runtime once again, Part XI is scary good. The raw energy brought from both members is matched with some pretty versatile flows. The flows come and go rather quickly, but they’re truly impressive and attention grabbing. I feel satisfied when the EP comes to a close; but I’m just hoping that the next part will be as great.

Last stage of the first half of the KY$ $AGA, I will be listening to the EP’s that follow this but probably won’t put them in the list that I have ranking the saga. Part 10 is brief in the same ways that 8 was, except a lot more fleshed out and it really felt like some real ideas were put into this. Production is maybe a step down from the spectacular 9, but the highlights really carry through and make this interesting.

Great EP! Now, make it longer than eight minutes challenge. Although this EP has some of the strongest tracks in the $uicideboy’$ discography, it pretty much fails at leaving an impact on the listener since no songs pass the 2:15 threshold. Despite my complaints, this is still a good release. I just have very little to say on it besides the incorporation of the One Beer beat was unique.

is everyone just listening to a different artist than me? I do not understand any sub-60 ratings, seriously. On this entry, production is as amazing as ever. The Asian flute instrumentals are very graceful and efficient. Both artists have been vocally improving and it’s refreshing to see the growth. The sample on Kamehameha was too fuckin’ good. I guess the only problem I had with this is that it was only 4 songs; would have loved more of this.

Apologies for falling behind on this review series. Anyways, the eight part of the KY$ $AGA is a transcendent experience. The second track alone is extremely enlightening and provoking. Speaking of thought provoking, just look at the title of the EP. The “concept” gets fleshed out as well as it can for its brief runtime. Once again, production keeps getting better and somehow through all of this I’ve never gotten tired of the subject matter.

What? This is honestly really enjoyable and is probably my favorite EP from this saga so far. The samples from 3 6 mafia are great and fit perfectly with the production. The more ballad-like style can be a turn off but the change in flow was needed and it sounds great. Features do their job as well, but before I can truly love it, the EP ends (although, with a banger of a last track being $uicicer)

Woah. Great album cover guys. Three great cuts from some of my favorite musicians, this time with a more romantic/sexual influence. “Fuck a Hoe” has a great sample, given the title of the song you can probably tell what the focus of the sample is lol. Scrim in particular shines on this EP although Ruby is great here like always. That last track is pure magic and is definitely one of their best songs, introspective as hell.

Damn, this is yet another great release. It bangs, scares you straight and before you can process it it’s done and you have to move onto the next $aga EP. It’s a twisted story, but one that is absolutely worth it. Production on this slaps, especially the song that is produced by God himself, Nedarb. The Slop and Chop remix at the end is unnecessary, but besides that it’s all bangers once again.

Eh? I don’t get the immense hate thrown at this EP, as it is pretty much more of the same of which I’ve grown to accept from this group’s early work. Perhaps I wasn’t “zooted” enough to have a “proper” listen, but tbh this ain’t bad. Sure, some of Scrim’s high hats stick out and the lyrics are below average, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nodding my head to the ugh, vibes of this ep

Big improvement over the first installment for sure. This time, the mixing doesn’t sound poorly processed and I can actually hear the raps. The direction taken with this EP is a lot more upfront and direct. The edgier sound is brisk but it helps make the EP sound a little less static. Overall improvement and pretty damn good.
