I can appreciate what J Cole can bring on a album, he is bar for bar one of the best rappers of his generation. After a 10-year wait Cole struggles with the same issues that hold him back from being in real goat conversations for his era. He's impressively un-innovative in sound style, his rapping, flows really everything. You play someone who has never heard Cole and Friday Night lights song and a Fall-Off song nobody would being they were made 15 years apart. He also really struggles ... read more
One of the best produced rap albums I’ve heard in a long time. This recent run of rap releases has been unreal.
Macs estate should be the blueprint for how you handle posthumous releases. Both albums released by his estate are incredible, both albums do him and his story justice. Bibby, Benny Blanco, and the entirety of Grade A needa be put on trail for grave robbing. I’m not gunna act like I’m a big Juice fan but these guys are awful. First thoughts: This album has the west coast banger feel. He got a bit caught up in the success of not like us and tried on a few songs to replicate that moment to mixed success. On the other hand this album has the DAMN feel. It’s a bit inconsistent but has some incredible songs. Reincarnated is the song of the year right now, heart pt. 6 is a heart song so yk it’s gunna be good and gloria is a soul touching closer ft SZA.
Update: This album has really grown on me since release. ... read more
