Havent really been active on this site for a while now but really wanted to talk about this album lol
This is my AOTY, I think this album is the most fun listen I had all year, The production is so fun and che himself has a very unique sound in my opinion and dosent really sound like anyone else in the underground atm. ik that this album really isnt for everyone but in my opinion this album is just pure fun
Yeah this shit sucks lmao, I started listening knowing there's a decent chance I wont really like it because I don't really listen to Rich The Kid like that (New Freezer is timeless tho). But I never thought that the 2 best verses on the album were going to be by featured artists (Chief Keef and BIA), I don't even listen to BIA but she carried Rich The Kid hard on Like Yoga, and Chief Keef's verse is nowhere near his best and if it was on Almighty So 2 it wouldve been one of ... read more
22 Songs and I still want more.
I listened to Lancey a few times before mostly in a few specific singles and in features (His feature on Animal Instinct by Skepta is insane btw) and I wanted to check his solo stuff out for some time now, So happy I finally did,
The production on this album is genuinely insane no other word for it, And Lancey's vocals are a big part of why I wanted to listen to him in the first place, Im happy to say that they do not disappoint at all.
I see a lot of ... read more
A very special album for me, I listened to it a lot during some of the toughest times of my life, And I really think Mac Demarco created his best work with this one, Every time I listen to this album front to back it somehow feels even more intimate and beautiful than my previous listen, Songs like Still Beating, , One More Love Song, On The Level and Watching Him Fade Away never fail to make me emotional, Also I feel like the most underrated thing about this album is the pacing of it, The ... read more
Im a huge Thug fan, he is probably one of my most streamed artists of this year so far.
This was my first time listening to Punk and I think its quite overhated. The album is not perfect for sure, It is too long and has some bad songs, but for me it was an enjoyable listen overall. A big problem I have with this album is the lack of songs without features, I do like a lot of the features, I think Mac Miller's feature was brilliant and features like J Cole Drake and Travis were all really ... read more
I had really high hopes from this, Mainly because of KAYTRAMINÉ which has been one of my favorite projects from last year, But even though the album is not mind blowing or anything like that I still fucking love it.
The production is actually insane and the way KAYTRANDA manages to make so many bangers with so many different artists which all have their own unique sound is crazy to me, The album is pretty much how I expected it to be, A really well produced album that is packed full ... read more
This shit is fucking crazy.
I heard bout this dude once from a friend and never planned to check out any of his music, But when I looked at the track list, and the fact that there's 10 songs called "Typical Rap Song", something about it made this album seem so interesting to me, Even though I knew what I was getting into because I heard "Me.coM" before idk what I expected the full listen to be but I really didn't expect it to be this fun.
Probably the most unique and just ... read more
This album is weird, But thats kinda why I like it.
I wanted to listen to anything by Drain Gang for a while now, I ended up listening to "Cold Visions" by Bladee before this and I wasnt really a huge fan of it to be honest, But 2 friends pushed me into listening to this despite not really liking the only other Drain Gang project I heard, And I gotta say despite it being really weird, This album is really good, Im a huge fan of Ecco2k's Vocals, I think they really add to the unique ... read more
Probably my least favorite Ken and Lone song, still decent tho
Probably the most underrated Griselda project on this site, I honestly think the production is fantastic, The flow on pretty much every song is great. and overall the album just feels cozy, I really made the right decision listening to this at night.
Really Recommend to any Griselda fan who hasn't checked this out yet.
Favorites: Maria, Nu Wave, Brick Van Exel, Long Live Julio, Roxycontin
This isn't something I would've probably checked out but my dad recommended me this and I'm really happy he did.
The first listen of this is just incredible, I really dont have another word that can describe this, ill be completely honest and admit that I had no idea what this was going to sound like, I didnt check the genres of this or anything I just trusted my dad to recommend me something that he'll know ill like, and as someone who hasn't really listened to any of the genres this album is ... read more
A friend put me on this and this is fire, The album feels like its inspired from a lot of different rappers (the main ones being Joey Bada$$ and the rest of Pro Era) but despite the album being influenced from a lot of other people Lord Sko manages to bring his own thing into the music, The beats are great and his flows are also pretty good, I would really recommend this to any Joey fans and just overall people looking for something a bit different from the current hip hop scene
This shit is lowkey fucking bad, really nothing special about this project whatsoever, Ill talk bout that straight away, But obviously the big point of this project is Cole responding to Kendrick, And that was a weak ass response, And for some reason he is dissing TPAB?. The bars on this project are probably the worst I heard from Cole, The production is really boring, and most of the songs feel the same and are pretty much all boring. and about the transphobic bar on Pi, Cole please just shut ... read more
This is fucking great!, Everyone on here managed to do their thing, Some more than others but still a really enjoyable listen, Yachty ofc is great as always, Camos flow is insane, Draft Day's voice can get a little annoying at points (especially on PINK AND BLUE), KARRAHBOOO is probably the most unique member other than Yachty and she fucking slid on some of these tracks, The production is also great and overall im really happy with how this project turned out, When Yachty announced it I wasnt ... read more
Far better than his previous EP, And even though I really like some of the songs here Dom dosent really live up to my expectations of him as a solo artist, In songs like First Offering, Russian Cream and 4TheBlock Dom shows he still got this, Even though im leaving the project kinda disappointed im still excited to hear what Dom will put out in the future.
Favorite Songs: First Offering, Russian Cream, 4TheBlock
Least Favorite Song: Gym Hours
WOW, The best trap album I heard in a while, The beats are insane as expected from metro, And almost every Future verse on this album goes hard, I had high expectations going into the album and this album was so much better than what I expected, The only songs I didn’t really like were Magic Don Juan (Princess Diana) and Runnin Outta Time, Overall this is probably my AOTY so far and I wouldn’t be surprised if it stays that way all year.
Favorite Songs: We Don’t Trust You, ... read more
The second full ScHoolboy Q project I listened to (first one was Oxymoron), And overall im impressed, Even though I liked Oxymoron I was way more impressed while listening to this, Q's beat selection is amazing, The production is amazing, His flows are Hard asf and most of the features did their thing (especially Rico Nasty, Freddie Gibbs and Ab-Soul), I enjoyed most songs however, Most of the songs I didnt enjoy (especially Movie and First) Felt kinda pointless, Movie is a shorter song and ... read more
I listened to Lucki's Freewave 1 only 2 days ago and already listened to all 3 of them, I think all of them being under 30 mins is the perfect length for a project like this, I think Freewave 3 is the best out of the 3, the production is actually really cool and stands out more than the production on the previous 2 projects, I was really curios to see how well would Lucki and Earl work together and after listening I can confidently say they work great together, I will be listening to more Lucki ... read more
