Not giving this a score because I don't view this as a song; rather, it is a clear cry for help from a very mentally ill person. You can despise Kanye as the person he currently is (and you should) and still feel awful for the kid version of Kanye that went through such a traumatic experience. Assuming what is being said is true, you should not be making fun of this or be devoid of all empathy because of who is saying it.
As expected with any album of this size it's a mixed bag. There are great moments here but it's overshadowed by really bad mixing and undercooked ideas. The entire thing feels so structureless, there are very few hooks, intros, or melodies. It sounds like a bunch of sounds put together with no thought given to cohesion and just hoping some of it lands. Like I considered the fact that I outgrew Carti and then went back to die-lit and loved it more than ever, this is simply a ... read more
I’ve never been a big fan of the alchemist or the rappers he works with. While they are undoubtedly talented I always feel bored by artists like Larry June continuing to rap on the same type of beats with no change in flow or cadence. However 2 chainz brings a lot of much needed personality to these songs, and forces the alchemist to step out of his jazz beats comfort zone. I really appreciate how much 2 chainz matured as an artist while still having his classic humor. This was a nice ... read more
I already know the discourse on this is going to be insufferable so right off the bat I'll say I genuinely do walk into every Drake album with an open mind. I will always have a lot of love for his early work and hope he gets back to that quality. That said, This thing is absolutely fucking dreadful. It is so devoid of any life, personality, or anything worth hearing. I just finished listening to it and guarantee by the end of the day I will not remember a single melody or chorus. It feels ... read more
The first great Charlie XCX project. This album is just completely fearless, It is constantly switching between fun danceable club songs, emotional ballads, and these weird abrasive experiments that I can't believe exist. It balances all of these extremely well and creates this really cohesive and consistently interesting experience.
The falloff of J.T has to be studied because godamm does this song go hard
This is a pretty big step down from True Romance. Sucker sees Charlie trying to go for this punk feel, but it comes across as really gimmicky. It feels like a label hearing the rebellious moments on her debut and pushing more of that instead of a genuine aesthetic choice. This is why her personality doesn't get a chance to shine here, it's overshadowed by her immature and at times, downright obnoxious and unlikeable attitude.
Charlie is an artist I have always wanted to dive into and what better time then after being addicted to brat for 7 months? True romance is an album I enjoy for an odd reason. I have immense nostalgia for late 2000's and early 2010's pop, it is the music that defines my childhood . While I have never heard any of these songs they just take me back to 2013. It just oozes with the style of that era while somehow also being ahead of it's time and not falling into the easy ... read more
While I like this album I feel it ultimately falls into the trap a lot of modern albums do of just being way too long. I think The Weekend made the mistake of focusing too much on making this cinematic experience that multiple songs are 5 minutes long and feel like interludes. This thing has three acts for me, the first 7 tracks are fantastic, The next 5 feel like this lull that's transitioning to something bigger and the rest is fine pop music that didn't earn the lull. All in all, ... read more
Sabrina has a lot of charm and humor that makes her music a little more interesting than her counterparts. The singles are the only songs that are special the rest is solid pop music with the exception of some snoozers. I much prefer this to either of the Antonoff-produced Taylor records as the production at least has some personality on here. Overall it's nothing all that groundbreaking but I get why it blew up as much as it did
To start this review off, I absolutely commend how Mac's estate has handled his catalog., This is yet again one of the best posthumous albums ever.THIS is how you respect an artist's legacy while giving the fans what they want. There was a part of me that was worried because Circles is so good and is the last album Mac made, but I should have known better. This and circles both feel like Mac actually wanted this released and left behind enough to create a fully cohesive album, ... read more
This is one of the worst number-one hits ever. It just exists to be rage bait, it just exists for Kanye to compare himself to actual convicted rapists and brag about how he can do and say whatever he wants and still have a fanbase. This song makes Kanye Tom Mcdonald levels of music I don't want to give attention to because it's exactly what he wants but at the end of the day he won.
This album is brainrot but in the best way possible. These songs are so insane and nonsensical but so fun to listen to at the same time. As much as I don't like artists like Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely you can't deny that this has already been a very influential album and quite literally created a hip -hop subgenre. It feels like as time goes on this album is something like 808's where it is polarizing at release and then over time goes on to create a sound that defines an ... read more
Gnx sees Kendrick fully embracing where he came from as it feels like a complete love letter to the West Coast. At times it can come across like he's trying a little too hard to recreate not like us but I appreciate the more fun mixtape feel this has to it. It's not going to have the legacy or impact of his previous work but I think it's time we got something like this from Kenny.
This is such an incredible psychedelic pop experience. This thing sounds just immaculate. it's one of those albums that reminds me why I love music. Every second is filled with something fascinating and the writing covers this theme of discovering yourself that is SO WELL DONE, I'm speechless this thing is so good

As crazy as it is to say since I first heard this thing less then 6 months ago this genuinely might be in my top 10 albums of all time. Even after ... read more
I view this album how a lot of people view trap music now. It's completely devoid of any substance and its only purpose is to make the listener have a fun time. As for that it's pretty effective
This album is full of raw unfiltered emotion from someone going through hell mentally and I think it does a great job expressing that. From the extreme mood changes to not caring about anything, it captures the feeling of losing yourself in a way that I think can only connect to people who have had similar struggles. It's uncomfortable, lacks replay value, and has some of the worst skits ever but I completely get what it's going for
