Genuinely one of the greatest first-listen experiences I’ve had.
Off this record alone, Lupe became one of my favorite rappers ever. He’s just an amazing storyteller, vocalist and lyricist. I’ve seen people say this album is if you mixed Kendrick type storytelling and lyricism with Kanye type production, and honestly that’s the best way to describe it. Very good album, but definitely not one of the greatest of all time as AOTY had me believe.
HAZARD DUTY PAY!, the most glazed song on the album, is easily one of the greatest songs of all time. I love the way the sample is used and Peggy’s flow and delivery is so addicting. This song is like drugs to me.

Not listening to this horseshit, so I won’t rate it, but just Drake using the MJ glove is just disrespectful. Drake is insanely popular, sure, but not as MJ and not nearly as great as MJ either
Also that fucking Looney Tunes ass flow on Shabang fries me every time 😭🙏

Solid project, but it has some real stinkers towards the end. B.O.R and I’m God are genuinely two of the best cloud rap songs of all time. The other first 1/3rd of the album is amazing too. But towards the end the production and rapping falls off a lot, which is a shame because I love the lyrics and flows at the beginning of the tape, genuinely inspirational. It’s a very influential tape but not the greatest imo.
