Restless Song is one of the most uniquely surreal psychedelic folk songs I've ever heard. I absolutely ADORE the main melody, and the swelling pour of that bassline and those backing vocals towards the end. Halcyon's Coffin is also pretty, but lands somewhere in the middle as a solid Mid-Air Thief track for me. But GODDAMN RESTLESS SONG MAN.
My hopes for Noah Yorke are so high, this is super strong. Sounds like Radiohead's AMSP years with a louder drumkit and more guitar arpeggiation à la In Rainbows. There are parts of the song which don't sound at all like something they'd have done, though, and that only makes me even more excited for whatever he puts out as he gets older.
This is absolutely fantastic. Builds up really well, that foreboding low guitar keeps it together, and whoever's on sax is high as shit and is playing with emotion and it shows. Backing vocals are phenomenal as well. A very well constructed piece of jazzy post-rock.
