I haven't written a review for this site in so long, I'd forgotten how hard it was to.
Will "Take Off Your Clothes" Toledo's back at it again, except this time around, Will "Take Off Your Clothes" Toledo is joined by The Gang, here to re-record a plethora of old songs with a full band and actual real production (optional). Due to the nature of this album's tracklist, filled from head-to-toe with re-recordings and abject misery, it's bound to feel a ... read more
These two singles have filled me with so much hope for the album ahead of us - I think we really might see a reprisal of "Golden Era" of Montreal, but with some new, fresher twists and production and I'm glad to see most people seem to agree. The Invisible Man is genuinely one of the best songs I've ever heard and one of the best released in the past couple of years. But then Zeitgeist has, like, the same drumming? And then One Hand Behind The Devil ALSO has the same drumming? All of these songs are absolutely fantastic on their own, but I feel like when you put those three back-to-back and that's the bulk of your release, it just detracts from the songs' strengths and instead amplifies their flaws by making it ... read more
